Several raiding teams of RAB-9, Sylhet raided several mobile servicing shops on the 3rd floor of Karim Ullah Market under Kotyali police station of Sylhet and arrested 6 active members of mobile phone thief and robber gang and mobile IMEI changing gang. A quantity of stolen mobiles and various devices that change the IMEI of mobiles were arrested on June 10. The arrested are Najibul Islam Zebulu (22), son of Rafiqul Islam Setab of Rawai Umar Kabul village of South Surma police station, Md Abdur Rahim (28) son of Md Bachchu Mia of Lamapara village of Shahparan police station, Md Akal Mia of Bhabanipur village of Bahubal police station, Habiganj. His son Masud Mia (23), Mizanur Rahman (22) son of Manik Mia of Salamtikarpara village of Mughlabazar police station and Abdur Rahman (22) son of Abdur Razzak of Dakshin Surma police station village. 231 Smart Mobiles, 10 Button Mobiles, 10 Tabs, 2 PCs, 3 Monitors, 2 Keyboards, 2 Mouses, 1 Hard Drive, 2 Pen Drives, Cash 75,550 Taka and 1 IMEI were recovered from the arrested persons. The changing device is seized. It is known that several organized mobile theft and robbery gangs are active in populated areas. After completing the robbery in a very short time, they quickly left the scene. The IMEI of these stolen and hijacked mobiles is later changed to avoid the eyes of the law enforcement agencies.
