RAB-10 has arrested Iqbal, a long-time absconding accused under arrest warrant who was sentenced to death in a murder case from Badda area of the capital. Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a vital role in bringing all types of criminals under the law with the aim of maintaining the overall law and order situation of the country. RAB has been carrying out regular operations against terrorists with illegal weapons including murder, rape, militants, terrorists, organized criminals, armed criminals, robbers. RAB has already been able to gain the public’s trust in crime control with the continuation of intelligence surveillance and raiding activities. In continuation of this yesterday on July 07, 2024 AD at approximately 17.05 hours in the afternoon, an raid team of RAB-10 conducted an operation in Anandnagar area under Badda police station of capital Dhaka based on secret information. In the said operation, Barisal District Gournadi Police Station Case No-10, Date-31/05/2002 AD, Section-302/34 Penal Code; The accused who has been on the run for a long time under the arrest warrant sentenced to death in the murder case. Iqbal Hossain (35), Father- Abul Kalam Bepari, Sgt- Laxmankatha Police Station- Gournadi, District- Barisal arrested. During the preliminary interrogation, the arrested accused confessed to be the absconding accused sentenced to death in the said case. It is known that he was hiding in different areas of the country including Badda in the capital since the case was registered. The arrested accused has been handed over to the concerned police station.
