Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a vital role in bringing all types of criminals under the law with the aim of maintaining the overall law and order situation of the country. RAB has been carrying out regular operations against terrorists with illegal weapons including murder, rape, militants, terrorists, organized criminals, armed criminals, robbers. RAB has already been able to gain the public’s trust in crime control with the continuation of intelligence surveillance and raiding activities.
In continuation of this, yesterday on 09 July 2024 AD at approximately 13:30 PM, an expeditionary team of RAB-10 conducted an operation in Konakhola area under Keraniganj Model Police Station of Dhaka district based on secret information. In the said operation, Tejgaon Police Station of the capital Dhaka, Case No-08(12)18, Dated-05/12/2018 AD Section-10 (c) of 36(1) of the Narcotics Control Act of 2018; Md. Alauddin (45), father-deceased-Aynal Haque, Sang-Shubhadhya Purbapara, Thana-Dakshin Keraniganj, District-Dhaka, who has been on the run for a long time and has been sentenced to 15 years by the learned court in the said drug case, has been arrested.
During the preliminary interrogation, the arrested accused confessed to be the absconding accused who was sentenced to 15 years in the said case. He went into hiding after getting bail from the court. It is known that the accused was hiding in different areas of the country including Keraniganj of Dhaka before his arrest.
The arrested accused has been handed over to the concerned police station.
