RAB-10, CPC-3, Faridpur arrested inter-district drug kingpin Nazmul Islam Kajal, who has been absconding for 7 years and has been sentenced to 15 years of rigorous imprisonment, along with 1850 pieces of Yaba along with 03 professional drug dealers from Sadar police station area of Rajbari district.
Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation in the country.
RAB has been conducting regular operations to arrest militants, terrorists, organized criminals, robbers, drug dealers and fugitive accused in various cases including murder, kidnapping and rape. RAB has already been able to gain the public’s trust in crime control with the continuation of intelligence surveillance and raiding activities.
In continuation of this yesterday, 27th June 2024 at noon, a raiding team of RAB-10, CPC-3 Faridpur camp came to know through secret information that inter-district narcotics chief Nazmul Islam Kajal (39) with the help of his co-accused was selling Yaba tablets at Rajbari. Aladipur market under Sadar Thana of the district is located on paved road in front of Mazar Gate. Then the said raiding party conducted a raid at the scene on the same date at 14:10 hours Pangsha Police Station of Rajbari District Case No-19, Dated-24/08/2017, Section-19(1) Table 9(b) of Narcotics Control Act of 1990/ 25, In the case of 15 (fifteen) years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Tk 10,000/-, the absconding accused
Nazmul Islam Kajal (39), father- deceased Nurul Islam @ Tiala, Sang-Zainabad Mandal Para, has been absconding for 07 (seven) years. Thana-Kumarkhali, District-Kushtia along with his other two associates are drug dealers 2. Tawhidul Islam Rafid (21), father-Mohammed Murad, Sang-Chewria, Mandal Para, Thana-Kumarkhali, District-Kushtia, 3. Mosa: Varsha Khatun (19), father-Md. Abdur Sattar, Sang-Cheuriya Mandal Para, Thana-Kumarkhali, District-Kushtia, was arrested with 1850 (one thousand eight hundred and fifty) pieces of Yaba tablets. At that time, 01 mobile phone and cash-1,040/- (one thousand and forty) were recovered from them.
Arrested accused Nazmul Islam Kajal is an inter-district drug dealer and drug dealer identified by other accused. They smuggled drugs from the border areas of the bordering districts of the country and sold them in different police stations of the surrounding districts including Faridpur, Kushtia, Rajbari districts. Accused Kajol has several drug cases in Sadar of Kushtia district and Pangsha and Goalandghat police stations of Rajbari district. Arrested accused Kajol has a 15-year sentence warrant in the drug case. There are also several warrants in the name of the accused Kajol. After being arrested repeatedly, he was released on bail and continued to deal in drugs by hiding in different areas.
Drug cases against the arrested persons were filed: Transferred to the concerned police station.
