Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation in the country. RAB is regularly carrying out extensive operations to recover stolen mobiles including militants, terrorists, organized criminals, armed criminals, narcotics, robbers, robbers. In continuation of this yesterday, on 05 July 2024 at approximately 19:55 in the evening, a raid team of RAB-10 conducted an operation on the north side of the main gate of Gulistan Nagar Bhawan under the Shahbag police station of the capital, Osmani Udyan area. In the said raid, 163 mobile phones and 07 tabs were stolen, totaling 170 (one hundred and seventy) old used mobile phones and tabs of different bands worth approximately Rs. Name of arrested persons 1. Md. Khokon (45), father-deceased Harun Or Rashid, Sang- East Islambagh, Thana-Chawkbazar, District- Dhaka, 2. Md. Harun (40), Father- Deceased Salim Mollah, Sang-Manik Nagar Wasa Road, Thana-Mugda, District-Dhaka, 3. Abdur Rahman (22), Father – Md. Sekandar, Sang-Boliar Char, Thana- Chandpur Sadar Model, District- Chandpur, 4. Nehal Rahman Sabuj (30), Father- Deceased Izzat Ali, Sang- Kashipur Madhyapara, Thana- Fatulla, District- Narayanganj, 5. Kamal Hoser (28), Father- Ashraf, Sang- Bilkuchia, Thana- Galachipa, District- Patuakhali. Preliminary inquiries revealed that the arrested persons are active members of a mobile smuggling ring. They used to buy stolen mobiles and tablets from thieves and robbers and sell them in different areas including Gulistan of the capital. A regular case was registered against the arrested person: Transferred to the concerned police station.
