RAB-10 arrested 03 drug dealers with 37 kg of ganja from different areas of capital; Seizure of pickup used to transport drugs

Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation of the country. RAB has been conducting regular operations against militants, terrorists, organized criminals, armed criminals, robbers and narcotics. RAB has continued its anti-narcotics campaign to eradicate drugs with the slogan “Let’s go to war, against drugs”. In continuation of this, today 26th June 2023 A.D. a raiding party of RAB-10 conducted an operation in Shanir Akhra area under Jatrabari police station of Dhaka in the capital on the basis of secret information and seized 28 (twenty eight) kg worth approximately 8,40,000/- (Eight Lakh Forty Thousand) Taka. Arrested 02 drug dealers with ganja. Name of arrested persons 1. Md. Maqbul Hossain (38), Father- Md. Azgar Ali Bhuiyan, Sang- Brahmangaon, Thana- Rupganj, District- Narayanganj, A/P- Islamabad, Thana- Kamalganj, District- Moulvibazar and 2. Md. Arman (33), Father – Deen Mohammad @ Deenu Mia, Sang – Ganganagar, Madhyapara, Thana – Rupganj, District – Narayanganj. Meanwhile, 01 pickup used for transporting drugs and 02 mobile phones and cash- 3320/- (three thousand three hundred and twenty) were recovered from them. Apart from this, another raiding party of RAB-10 conducted another operation in Naymati Bhabhir Bazar area under Fatulla police station of Narayanganj district today and arrested 01 drug dealer along with 09 kg of ganja worth approximately Tk 2,70,000/- (two lakh seventy thousand). The arrested drug dealer has been identified as Sonia Akhter Sriti (22). Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested persons are professional drug dealers. They have been collecting cannabis and other drugs from various border areas of the country and delivering them to different areas of the country including the capital through pickup. Besides, it is known that the arrested Maqbul Hossain has a total of 03 drug cases against him in Jatrabari of the capital, Chauddagram of Comilla and Sakhipur of Shariatpur. A separate drug case has been registered against the arrested persons in the concerned police station.
