RAB-10 arrested 02 convicted fugitives from Motijheel and Shyampur areas of the capital

Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the good law and order situation in the country. RAB has been conducting regular operations to arrest militants, terrorists, organized criminals, robbers, drug dealers and fugitive accused in various cases including murder, kidnapping. RAB has already been able to gain the public’s trust in crime control with the continuation of intelligence surveillance and raiding activities. In continuation of this yesterday, on May 9, 2023, a raiding party of RAB-10 conducted an operation in Shapla Chattar area under Motijheel Police Station of Rajadhani Dhaka and was sentenced to 10 (ten) years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Tk 20,000/- (twenty thousand) in a long running drug case. Md. Sabuj Sikder (34), Father- Md. Delwar Sikder, Sang- Lamna, Ward No. 4, Police Station- Galatipa, Police Station- Patuakhali, arrested under the sentence warrant. Meanwhile, 01 mobile phone was recovered from him. Besides, on the same date, the said raiding party conducted another operation in Postgola area under Shyampur Model Police Station of Rajadhani, Dhaka, and sentenced the accused Md. Mohsin Islam, a long-term fugitive, to 03 (three) months of unpaid imprisonment and a fine of Tk 15,00,000/- (fifteen lakhs). arrested During preliminary interrogation, the arrested accused admitted his involvement in the said incident. They are said to have been hiding in different parts of the country for a long time to save themselves from the law. The arrested accused have been handed over to the concerned police stations.
