Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation of the country. RAB has been conducting regular operations against militants, terrorists, organized criminals, armed criminals, robbers and narcotics. RAB has continued its anti-narcotics campaign to eradicate drugs with the slogan “Let’s go to war, against drugs”. In continuation of this, yesterday on 06 July 2024 AD at approximately 21:30 hours, a raiding team of RAB-10 conducted an operation in Bamansur area under Keraniganj Model Police Station of Dhaka district based on secret information. In the said raid, 01 drug dealer was arrested with 64 (sixty four) bottles of Phencidil worth approximately 1,92,000/- (One Lakh Ninety Two Thousand) Taka. The name of the arrested person is known as Md. Rabbi Sheikh (29), Father-Md. Ismail Sheikh, Sang-Chashidi, Union-Aushahi, Thana-Tongibari, District-Munshiganj. Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested person is a professional drug dealer. He had been collecting phensidyl and other narcotics from different border areas of the country and supplying them to different areas of the country including Keraniganj of Dhaka. A drug case was filed against the arrested person: Transferred to the concerned police station.
