RAB-10 arrested 01 drug dealer with 52 kg of ganja from Doha area of ​​Dhaka district; Seizure of microbuses used to carry drugs.
Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation of the country. RAB has been conducting regular operations against militants, terrorists, organized criminals, armed criminals, robbers and narcotics. RAB has continued its anti-narcotics campaign to eliminate drugs with the slogan “Let’s go to war, against drugs”.
In continuation of this, yesterday 06 June 2024 AD at 01.30 hours, an raid team of RAB-10 came to know through secret information that some drug dealers are staying in Dohar Ghata area under Dohar Thana of Dhaka district with a large consignment of drugs. Later on the same date at around 02.50 midnight, when the raiding team of RAB-10 reached the spot, a woman drug dealer tried to escape after sensing the presence of RAB, and the woman drug dealer was arrested with the help of a female member of RAB. Name of arrested female drug dealer 1. Sonia (35), father- Sheikh Shaheed, known as Sang-Banaghata, Thana-Dohar, District-Dhaka. After arresting the woman drug dealer, she said that there was drug marijuana in the room of her rented house. At one point, 10 (ten) kg of ganja kept in a green polybag was recovered from his room. When the arrested woman drug dealer was interrogated extensively about the large quantity of drugs, she revealed that there were more illegal drugs in the microbus in front of her rented house. After that, the RAB raiding team searched the microbus and recovered 42 (forty two) kg of ganja from under the seats of the microbus. In the said operation of RAB, a total of 52 kg of cannabis and 01 microbus used for transporting drugs worth approximately 15,60,000/- (fifteen lakhs and sixty thousand) rupees were seized.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested accused is a professional drug dealer. For quite some time, he had been illegally collecting ganja and other narcotics from various border areas of the country and supplying them to various areas including Doha in Dhaka.
A drug case was lodged against the arrested persons: handed over to the concerned police station.
