Dumki Patuakhali: The admission test for the first year of undergraduate studies for the 2024-25 academic year of the faculties under the agriculture cluster at Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU) was held in a peaceful atmosphere. The exam was held at 3 pm on Saturday (April 12) at 91 centers on the main campus of PSTU along with other cluster universities of the country. This year, about 4 thousand students applied to participate in the exam against a total of 423 seats in the faculties of Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Science and Veterinary. On the day of the exam, 2,627 students were present, which is a participation rate of about 65.67 percent.
During the exam, the university’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Kazi Rafiqul Islam visited various exam centers and expressed satisfaction over the smooth conduct of the exam. Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. SM Hemayet Jahan, Registrar Professor Dr. Md. Iktiar Uddin, Convener of the Admission Test Committee Professor Dr. Mohammad Atiqur Rahman, Proctor Professor Abul Bashar Khan, Deputy Director of the Public Relations Department Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Sabuj and Deputy Advisor for Student Affairs ABM Saiful Islam.
While sharing her exam experience, Rubaiya Sithi, an examinee from Magura, said, “The question paper was very good and the overall management of the university was also commendable.”
After visiting the admission test hall, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Kazi Rafiqul Islam went around the temporary tents set up for the guardians to sit and exchanged greetings with the guardians and spoke to several guardians including Nazrul Islam, guardian of two girls from Mymensingh, guardian Alamgir Hossain from Barisal, Fatema from Shariatpur, Advocate Amir Hossain from Baufal and informed them about maintaining a drug and ragging-free environment in the university and how he has been 100% successful there. The guardians highly appreciated the beautiful and orderly charming environment of the university and the various developmental and social activities of the VC and expressed their gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Kazi Rafiqul Islam thanked and expressed his gratitude to the concerned teachers, officials, employees, students, guardians, locals and journalists for the fair and smooth conduct of the examination.#
