protest and human chain program was held demanding the hanging of the killers in the incident of mason Abul Bashar being hacked to death with a knife in Rajapur, Jhalakati. Around 10 am on Wednesday, around a thousand men and women from different professions participated in the hour-long human chain at the local press club premises. The local general public organized it.
Kalam Mridha, a victim of the previous attack by the murderer Nazmul, Dilu Begum, the mother of the deceased Abul Bashar, his wife Asma Akhter, and his eldest son Aminul Islam, among others, spoke at the human chain program.
The speakers said that the murderer Nazmul Islam is a known terrorist in the area. In the past few days, many people have been attacked by Nazmul in the area. Prakash stabbed Abul Bashar to death with a knife. They demanded the death penalty as the maximum punishment for him. The speakers also demanded that Nazmul’s supporters be brought to justice in connection with this murder.
Rajapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Ismail Hossain said that the main accused in the case, Nazmul, has already been arrested. Efforts are underway to arrest the remaining accused.
