The Comilla Youth Journalists Association and Cumilla Sports Journalists Association have organized a sports competition for working journalists and a drawing and writing competition for the sons and daughters of journalists.
The drawing and writing competition was held at the Cumilla Press Club auditorium on the afternoon of February 21st (Friday). The prizes were distributed later.

The first place in the drawing competition was taken by Jibananand De Kabyo, a second-grade student, Kafi (son of journalist Zahirul Haque Babu) and the third-grade student, Marcia Mahfuz Sabrin (daughter of journalist Mahfuz Anwar Sourav). In addition, special awards were given to Advocate Tapas Chandra Sarkar’s son Aranya Sarkar Prince, journalist Towhid Hossain Mithu’s niece Liba, journalist Abdul Motaleb Nikhil’s daughter Jannatul Hafsa Niha, Russell Sohel’s son Sahir Ahmed Sakaf, Syed Rajib’s son Abdullah Omayer, Mainuddin’s son Wafi and journalist Nur Alam’s daughter Nusrat Sultana Alifa.
Seventh-grade student Nur Samira Pushpa (journalist Alauddin’s niece) and eighth-grade student Jannatul Ferdous Meem (journalist Nur Alam’s daughter) jointly won first place in the essay competition.
Mainuddin won the chess competition and Mainul Haque Swapan was the runner-up. Ujjwal Hossain Billal won the carrom board competition and Mahfuz Anwar Sourav was the runner-up. Asif Manna won the badminton men’s singles (Group A) and Russel Sohel was the runner-up. Mahfuz Anwar Sourav was the champion and Selim Reza Munshi was the runner-up. Md. Alauddin and Nasrin Akhter Hira won the badminton doubles (men-women) competition and Shah Imran and Amena Begum Shiuli were the runners-up. Nasrin Akhter Hira won the badminton women’s singles competition and Amena Begum Shiuli was the runner-up. Selim Reza Munshi and Istiak Ahmed won the badminton doubles (men’s pair) competition and Mahfuz Anwar Sourav and Ujjwal won the badminton doubles (men’s pair) competition. Hossain Billal.
In addition, the Fair Play Award was received by Zahirul Haque Babu, Sadia Sultana Barsha, Mohammad Shafi, Ahsan Habib Pakhi, Habibur Rahman Munna, Abdul Motaleb Nikhil, Amit Majumdar, Mac Rana, Shakib and Yasin.
The speakers at the event said that starting from the great Ekushey, all the significant events in the life of the Bengali nation should be presented correctly before the nation so that a nation can be aware of each history.
The speakers also said that if we can all adopt the Bengali language, which was acquired in exchange for the blood of martyrs, the souls of the martyrs will find peace. We all need to give more priority to the Bengali language.
