Prime Minister returned home after US-UK tour

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has returned home after a 16-day visit to the United States and the United Kingdom. A Biman Bangladesh Airlines commercial flight (BG-208) carrying the Prime Minister’s entourage left Heathrow Airport at 9:10 PM London time on Tuesday.

The flight arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka around 12:30 PM Bangladesh time on Wednesday (October 4).

Earlier, on September 30, the Prime Minister arrived in London, the capital of the United Kingdom, from Washington DC on a British Airways flight.

In London from September 30 to October 3, Sheikh Hasina attended a reception given by Bangladeshis. Meanwhile, a delegation led by President of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Bangladesh and Rohingya and Shadow Minister for Investment and Small Business Affairs of the United Kingdom, Rushnara Ali, paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister.

During his stay in New York, the Prime Minister attended various events including the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) from September 17-22 and other high-level and bilateral meetings.

The Prime Minister attended a reception for Bangladeshi citizens living in the United States in Washington DC from September 23 to 29 and visited the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Dhaka for New York on a special Bangladesh Biman flight to attend the 78th General Session of the United Nations on September 17.
