418 houses in Noakhali district have been handed over in the 2nd phase of the 4th phase built for the landless and homeless on the occasion of Mujib Barsha. Through this, the Prime Minister declared Noakhali’s Sadar, Begumganj, Sonaimuri, Chatkhil and Senbagh upazilas homeless and landless. The Chief Minister made this announcement through a video conference from Ganobhaban in the shelter project area of Kachihata village of Amanuliahpur Union of Begumganj at around 10:30 am on Wednesday. Chittagong Range DIG Noore Alam Meena, BBM Bar, PPM was present as a special guest in the opening ceremony. Also Divisional Commissioner of Chittagong Division. Tofail Islam, Deputy Commissioner Dewan Mahbubur Rahman, Noakhali Superintendent of Police, Md. Shahidul Islam, (PPM-Bar) and Member of Parliament of Noakhali-3 (Begumganj) Constituency. Mamunur Rashid Kiran, Noakhali Zola Awami League President Principal Khairul Anam Salim, Zilla Parishad Chairman Abdul Wadud Pintu, Chaumuhani Municipality Mayor Khaled Saifullah and other political leaders and top administration officials were present. So far, at the initiative of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, a total of 41 lakh 48 thousand landless-homeless-displaced people have been given full housing. On the opening day, the residents of the Amanullah Pur Asharyan project got new houses and new sarees and seemed to be happy with the joy of Eid. Many cried with emotion. They said that earlier we used to hang polythene at different people’s places along the road and pass the day with great difficulty. We are very happy that the current Prime Minister has built a new house for us. We wish long life to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
