Newly appointed Superintendent of Police Mst. Shamima Parveen held a press briefing with the local journalists about the sensational murders and mysteries that happened in Rajbari recently.
At that time Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Rezaul Karim, Additional Superintendent of Police Mukit Sarkar, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Md. Iftekharuzzaman and various print and electronic media journalists were present.
The Superintendent of Police said in a written statement that on September 15, a murder case was registered at Pangsha Model Police Station, case No. 06. Accused Ratan Khan, resident of Bilmandab area of Pangsha police station, strangled his wife victim Chameli by wrapping a veil around her neck and tried to propagate it as suicide by pouring poison on the victim’s mouth. But after seeing the victim’s surathal report, we arrested the only accused, Ratan Khan. At one stage of interrogation, he confessed to the murder. Later he gave a confessional statement to the Magistrate under Section CRPC-164.
On September 21, a murder case was registered in Kalukhali police station of Rajbari, whose case is No-12. While trying to steal transformer wire in Madhapur area of Kalukhali police station, people beat up the victim Nazmul Mollah and left him at the hospital gate. Nazmul Molla walked from there to the emergency department and was admitted to the hospital. Later died under treatment. A murder case has been registered at Kalukhali police station against his wife. The victim was a professional thief. He has a total of 11 cases under his name including robbery preparation- 03, theft- 06. Salam Dari, the main person who recorded the video in the said incident, has been arrested and handed over to the court. He is a chargesheeted accused in a fight case on 18 May 2024. There was another fight case in 2006 as well.
Last September 22nd at around 6 o’clock in the evening, a group of miscreants hacked and shot dead Susil Sarkar and escaped from there. After verifying victim Sushil’s PCPR, it was found that Sushil Sarkar was the leader of an extremist group in the region. Goalanda Ghat Police Station has seven Arms Act cases against him, including murder. He has already served 5 years in jail. Goaland police station case no-04.
As soon as the news of the murder was received, the police went to the spot. The post-mortem was completed and the body was handed over to the family. The victim’s brother Sunil Sarkar filed a case at Goalanda Ghat police station as the plaintiff.
In this incident Gowalandghat police arrested a person named Johnny and handed him over to the court. He is accused in two drug cases, an Arms Act case and a chargesheeted accused in the recent Green murder case.
A murder case was registered at Rajbari Sadar Police Station on September 23. whose case is no-26. Accused Rashid Ejaharnam of Ramkantapur Union of Rajbari Sadar Police Station strangulated the victim by strangulation. Rashid’s family said that he was admitted to the hospital due to illness. But when the police arrived at the spot and examined the dead body of the victim and found it suspicious, the accused Rashid was arrested and handed over to the court. Rashid gave a confessional statement under section 164 of the IPC in the said incident.
On September 25th, a 12-year-old boy named Minhaj Sheikh was killed in Bhavdiya of Barat Union of Rajbari Sadar Upazila. Last night, Minhaj Sheikh’s father filed a missing GD at Azad Sheikh police station. His dead body was found the next morning.
Minhaj Sheikh went to enter the garden of Muktar Sardar of a neighboring area to eat malta. But Muktar Sardar keeps his garden fenced with barbed wire and electrified. The child was electrocuted to death by the electric wire of that garden fence. Later, the dead body was dumped in the middle of the paddy field by Muktar Sardar and his associates.
In this incident, a case has been taken against the owner of the garden and the janitor at the police station. Rajbari Sadar police station case no-28. The accused are absconding. Attempts to arrest are ongoing.
