Preparations for Dhaka to Akhaura long march, security tightened, and exports and passenger crossing are normal.
Three BNP organizations are holding a long march towards Agartala today, Wednesday, to protest against Indian aggression and the attack on the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala, India. The long march, initiated by the Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal and Chhatra Dal, will arrive at the Akhaura land port border in the border district of Brahmanbaria with a large convoy of leaders and activists.
A grand reception has already been organized at the land port truck yard field after the long march ends at 3 pm. All preparations, including the construction of the pandal and microphone fittings, are already underway. The central leaders of Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal and Swechchhasebak Dal will speak at the rally. Leaders and activists from Brahmanbaria district and neighboring districts will participate in the long march.
Meanwhile, security measures have been taken by the administration to surround the rally 350 yards from the border. The law and order situation should not deteriorate in any way. There is strict surveillance. There has been no adverse impact on import and export at Akhaura Land Port due to the long march.
Mahmudul Hasan – Assistant Director of Traffic, Akhaura Land Port, said that 23 trucks of frozen fish, dried fish and various types of products were exported to India in the morning. Sultanpur 60 BG CU Lt. Col. AM Jaber Bin Jabbar said that they are on alert to avoid any kind of chaos at the border. Preparations are in place at all places.
Ghazala Parvin Ruhi (Akhaura Upazila Nirbahi Officer UNO) said that the Dhaka to Akhaura long march has been organized by the Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, Chhatra Dal and BNP affiliates. The District Superintendent of Police, BGB and law enforcement agencies, led by the Deputy Commissioner, are working to strengthen security to prevent any chaos during the long march.
