Police SI dies while playing badminton

SI (Sub-Inspector) Moniruzzaman Munshi (58) working at Goland police station in Rajbari died of a heart attack while playing badminton.

Deceased Moniruzzaman Munshi, a resident of Nagarkanda in Faridpur district, was sub-inspector of Goaland Ghat police station.

Uttam Kumar Ghosh, Officer-in-Charge (OC-Investigation) of Goaland Ghat police station said that the SI was playing badminton on the police station ground with other employees of the police station on Sunday night. He suddenly fell ill on the field at around 9:30 pm during the game.

Later, he was quickly taken to Goalanda Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. The body was handed over to the family after the first prayer at Rajbari police line at around 11:30 pm.
Rajbari Superintendent of Police GM Abul Kalam Azad has expressed deep grief over the untimely death of SI Moniruzzaman Munshi.
