Police force is with flood affected people: IGP in Comilla

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md. Moinul Islam said, immediately after the flood occurred in different areas of the country, the policemen are supporting the flood-affected people in various ways.

He said these things after visiting the flood-affected places of Comilla district on Sunday (August 25) afternoon and distributing relief to the displaced people.

While talking to the journalists present, the IGP said that immediately after the flood occurred in different areas of the country, the police is standing by the side of the flood-affected people and assisting them in various ways.

He also said that a high-level delegation from the police headquarters is distributing relief in the flood-affected districts of Comilla, Feni, Noakhali and Laxmipur. In addition to the National Emergency Service 999, control rooms have been set up in the affected districts to help flood-affected people.

The police chief also said,Medical teams of the police are deployed in the flood-affected areas. Naval Police and District Police are engaged in rescuing the displaced persons through speedboats, boats etc.

He said that the relief distribution activities of the police will continue until the flood situation returns to normal and the Bangladesh Police will also assist the victims in post-flood rehabilitation.

The IGP first distributed relief to the flood victims at the office premises of Feni District Superintendent of Police and later at Comilla District School Grounds. At that time RAB Director General AKM Shahidur Rahman and other senior officials were present.
