Although the 24-hour ultimatum announced during the human chain program to uncover the mystery of the mysterious death of Samia, a madrasa student in Laksame, Comilla, has expired due to his continuous indecent, indecent and ugly comments targeting investigative journalists, the police have failed to arrest the impostor Moinul Islam Jafri for unknown reasons.
The ultimatum expired on April 25 (Friday). The Laksham police station did not take any initiative to arrest Jafri, ignoring the ultimatum. The common people want to know what is the police’s delay and where is the strength of Jafri’s pole.
A person named Moinul Islam Jafri wrote on Facebook, targeting journalists and civil society activists, “The newborns who survived the dustbins of colleges and universities will either grow up to be journalists or become scoundrels called civil servants.” In protest of such comments on Facebook, a human chain and protest rally was held at 10 am on April 24 at the initiative of journalists and civil society activists of Laksam, i.e. South Comilla.
During the protest rally, Moinul Islam Jafri, the son-in-law of Azizul Islam, director of Iqra Women’s Madrasa, was given a 24-hour deadline to be arrested. All media workers, led by the journalists’ organization Laksam Press Club and Laksam Journalists Union,
When the journalist leaders went to Laksam Police Station on the night of April 25 (Friday) to inquire about the progress of the matter, they expressed their anger at the negligence of the police. The journalists also warned of strict action if the culprit was not arrested immediately. At that time, Laksam Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nazneen Sultana and OC Investigation Anwar Hossain gave a responsible statement saying that they would look into the matter.
When reporters asked about the progress in unraveling the mystery of Samia’s death, police authorities said that most of the work has progressed.
