Pohela Boishakh Celebrated in Pirojpur with Festive Enthusiasm

Pohela Boishakh, the traditional Bengali New Year, is being celebrated in Pirojpur with various colorful events. On Monday morning at 8:30 AM, a joyous rally was brought out from the ground of the Government Boys’ High School to welcome the Bengali year 1432. The procession, showcasing different elements of Bengali culture, paraded through various streets of the town and returned to the school ground, where a cultural program followed.

The rally was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner of Pirojpur, Mohammad Ashraful Alam Khan. Among those present were Superintendent of Police Khan Mohammad Abu Naser, Pirojpur Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mamunur Rashid, Convener of Pirojpur District BNP Principal Alomgir Hossain, Member Secretary of Pirojpur District BNP Gazi Wahiduzzaman Lavlu, President of Pirojpur District Labor Party and former councilor Freedom Fighter Abdus Salam Baten, along with officials and employees of various institutions.

Following the rally, the Deputy Commissioner officially inaugurated a seven-day-long Boishakhi Fair at the Government Boys’ High School ground. The fair will run daily from 9 AM to 9 PM and features attractions such as a Ferris wheel, toy train, various rides, and over a hundred stalls.
