In the incident on Friday, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-9 Sylhet recovered a 9 mm pistol during a raid. Nine rounds, a magazine and some Indian currency were recovered.
RAB-9 Sylhet Assistant Superintendent of Police (Media) Moshiur Rahman Sohel confirmed the matter on Friday (September 6) afternoon.
He said that this pistol was recovered from the house of a person named Rajib in Mirabazar Agpara area of ​​the city on Friday afternoon. It could be a weapon looted from a police station or outpost. However, RAB said that Rajiv was not found during the operation.
RAB said Rajiv’s in-laws live in the house where the weapons were found.
However, many locals, who did not want to be named, said that Rajiv was involved in various crimes. But none of them know which party he is a member of. He is seen socializing with different groups of people at various times.
The Indian rupees found with the weapons prove that Rajeev is a listed criminal. Perhaps he intended to flee to India.
