The operation to preserve Ma Hilsa in Pirojpur Kacha River during the ban, was conducted on Thursday (October 17) afternoon by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ashraful Alam Khan. Army officer Major Zahidur Islam, Coast Guard officer Lt. Commander Manjur Hossain, Joint Director of National Intelligence Agency were present. Abdul Quader, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration & Finance), Pirojpur. (Promoted to the post of Superintendent of Police) Sheikh Mostafizur Rahman, Upazila Executive Officer Pirojpur Sadar, Mamunur Rashid, District Fisheries Officer Sanjeev Sannamat etc.
The District Commissioner said that until November 3, the district administration, fisheries department and police administration will take a stricter stance to protect Ma Hilsa.
