A woman named Akhi Akhter (34) was killed in a collision between a bus and a battery-operated auto-rickshaw in Pirojpur.
The accident took place at Ranipur Nimtala area of ​​Pirojpur-Barisal highway of Sadar upazila around 10:30 am on Thursday (November 14). 4 people including children were injured in this incident.
After giving first aid to the injured at Pirojpur District Hospital, the woman died on the way to Barisal Shere-Bangla Medical College Hospital at around 12 noon. The rest are being taken to hospital. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pirojpur Sadar Police Station. Abdus Sobhan confirmed this.
Deceased Akhi Akter is the wife of Imran Howladar of Chirapara Union of Kaukhali Upazila. The injured are Imran Howladar (24), Zahura Begum (65), Reshma Begum (30), Forkan Howladar (60), both residents of Chirapara Union of Kaukhali Upazila.
Eyewitnesses said that a bus of Imad Paribahan was going from Barisal to Pirojpur. On the other hand, a battery operated auto rickshaw with passengers was going from Bagerhat to Kaukhali in Pirojpur. At that time, when the autorickshaw was passing another autorickshaw at Nimtala Namaksthan in Ranipur, there was a head-on collision with Imad Paribahan. After that, the locals rescued the injured and took them to Pirojpur District Hospital. There they were sent to Barisal after providing first aid. The woman died on the way there. The houses of all the injured are in Chirapara village of Kaukhali upazila. An autorickshaw driver named Imran was going from Bagerhat to Kaukhali with four passengers.
Suman Halder, doctor on duty at Pirojpur District Hospital, said that 5 people were brought to the hospital with injuries. As the condition is critical, they were sent to Barisal Sher Bangla Medical College Hospital after first aid. I heard that a woman died on the way there.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Thana Police Md. Abdus Sobhan said – A road accident took place at Ranipur Nimtala area of ​​Pirojpur-Barisal highway of Sadar upazila around 10:30 am. A woman died on the way to Barisal. Legal action in this regard is under process.
