SB-Sujon, Lalmonirhat Correspondent:
BNP National Standing Committee member Babu Gayeshwar Chandra Roy said, the people want power to be transferred to the elected government through quick elections. The public rally was held to demand keeping the price increase of essential commodities at a tolerable level, improving the law and order situation, announcing a roadmap for a quick transition to the democratic path, and confronting the various conspiracies of fallen fascism.
On Wednesday (February 12), BNP National Standing Committee member Babu Gayeshwar Chandra Roy spoke as the chief guest at the public rally held at the Railway Mukta Mancha in Lalmonirhat city at 4 pm.
The public rally organized by Lalmonirhat District BNP was presided over by Principal Asadul Habib Dulu, Organizing Secretary of the Rangpur Divisional BNP National Executive Committee and President of Lalmonirhat District BNP. Abdul Khalek, Rangpur Divisional Co-Organizing Secretary of the BNP National Executive Committee, Professor Aminul Islam, Rangpur Divisional Co-Organizing Secretary of the BNP National Executive Committee, and all levels of Lalmonirhat District BNP leaders were present as special guests.
BNP National Standing Committee member Babu Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, in his speech as the chief guest, said, “All our hopes seem to be shrouded in fog, we have to come out of this fog. Starting from the student quota reform to the anti-discrimination movement, BNP has entered the gap. So far, BNP has not made any mistake. The rise in commodity prices is unbridled. Farmers have not received the price of their produce. The market is being destabilized through syndicates. That is why we are protesting against the fascist Hasina, but we are not protesting against this government. The so-called intellectuals of this country do not know how to respect political leaders. This government is neither reforming nor holding elections.
Babu Gayeshwar Chandra Roy said, there have been attempts to eradicate BNP. BNP has neither been wiped out nor eradicated. The autocratic Hasina has taught BNP to die through movement. We are not afraid of dying. Our national leader Khaleda Zia has never bowed her head. We will not bow our head either. Patriotic leader Tarique Rahman is the voice of the people. Many people cannot tolerate that BNP will come to power if elections are held. If BNP does not come to power, who will come to power? The opponents of independence? Those who do not recognize independence, do not know November 7, only know August 5. The dream of a new Bangladesh will not be fulfilled by denying the war of independence.
He also said, we have given 31 points, the next state reform will be done through 31 points, everything is in between. If necessary, some more additions and subtractions may be made. We demand fair and free elections. Hold quick elections and leave with honor. The people own the country. A few bureaucrats do not own this country. We do not want this government to fail. The people want power to be handed over to the elected government. Implement what the people want. BNP’s 9-day nationwide program has started from today. BNP’s central leaders are on a tour of 6 districts to make the 9-day nationwide program a success. This public rally is being held as a part of it.
