The Bengali nation welcomed another year of glorious victory in the misty Konkan winter morning. Ignoring the cold, millions of people flocked to the National Memorial area of Savar on the Great Victory Day. The memorial area woke up in the early hours of Saturday (December 16) in memory of those martyrs whose sacrifices Bengali got independent country. Millions of people came to the memorial area from early morning. They are remembering the brave martyrs who gave their lives for the freedom of the country with flowers of respect.
President on Saturday morning. The program of the 53rd Victory Day started with Sahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paying tributes. First the President and then the Prime Minister paid their respects at the National Memorial. At this time, a smart group of three forces saluted. A sad tune is played in the bugle in memory of the martyrs. The head of state and government remembered the brave children of the nation standing in silence for some time.
The martyr altar is filled with flowers. Red and green flags covered the monument premises. People had flowers in their hands and were wearing red and green. Leaders and workers of political, social and cultural organizations kept paying respect to each other in a row. In no time the memorial area turned into a sea of people. The memorial premises became busy with the march of students from various educational institutions. As the day progressed, the crowd began to increase. People flocked from all directions and mingled in the memorial premises.
At this time, local administration, police, public and private institutions, educational institutions, universities, press clubs, social organizations and people of all ages pay their respects at the altar of the memorial.
Lakhs of young and old people are offering flowers at the martyr altar of the memorial to show their deep respect and love to the best children of the nation. The memorial area turned into a festival city with the joy and excitement of thousands of people.
