A pedestrian was killed and four others were seriously injured when a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction hit him while he was crossing the highway at Galachipa Haridebpur Poly Technical School and College in Patuakhali at around 11 am on Saturday.
The deceased pedestrian is Sultan Khan, son of the deceased Tojjamel Khan of Ward No. 1 of Golkhali Union.
The driver of the rented motorcycle could not be arrested as he quickly left the scene after the accident. However, efforts are underway to identify the driver. The four injured were given first aid. The body of the deceased is currently at his home. Police sources said that no complaint has been filed with the police station till the time of writing this report.
