A student of Patuakhali’s Galachipa has been reported to have confessed to the gang rape.
According to police sources, the student was returning home from his girlfriend’s house with his small forest on Thursday evening, Shah Alam Sharif’s son Khairul Sharif (22), deceased Shahidul Melkar’s son Sohag Melkar (18) and another person pushed the younger sister and the elder sister. They took him to the forest next to Sluisgate and raped them together. When the victim’s father filed a case at the police station, two people were arrested by the police in a police operation. Later, during the initial interrogation, the arrested accused confessed to the rape. However, three days after the incident, two people were arrested, but one person is absconding. The house of the arrested is in Hoglebunia village of Dakua Union.
Galachipa Police Station OC Md. Ferdous Alam Khan confirmed the matter. He said that two of the three people were arrested from Ghazalia area on Friday Dibag late night under the guidance of Hon’ble Superintendent of Police Saidur Rahman BPM PPM. And the arrested persons have been sent to the Patuakhali Senior Chip Judicial Court on February 11, with a case filed under the Women and Child Abuse Act.
