Election of panel chairman was held in the first meeting of the 6th Upazila Parishad in Barura, Comilla.
On Wednesday, June 19, at twelve o’clock in the Upazila Parishad meeting room under the chairmanship of newly elected Upazila Parishad Chairman Md. Hamid Latif Bhuiyan (Kamal) and under the supervision of Upazila Executive Officer Nu-Emong Marma Mong, Comilla South District Awami League Vice President Comilla 8 was present as the chief guest. Honorable Member of Parliament for Barura Constituency Abu Zafar Mohammad Shafiuddin Shamim.
Barura Municipality Mayor Md. Baktar Hossain Bakhtiar, newly elected Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Md. Farhad Hossain, Female Vice Chairman Minwara Begum, Upazila Agriculture Officer Zahid Hasan, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Md. Mohibus Salam Khan, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Nasrin Sultana were present. Tanu, Barura police station officer-in-charge Riazul Islam Chowdhury and other leaders were present.
On the basis of everyone’s opinion in the meeting, the name of the newly elected female vice chairman Minuara Begum was announced as the 1st panel chairman of Barura Upazila Parishad. And newly elected upazila vice chairman Md. Farhad Hossain was elected as the 2nd panel chairman.
After winning as the panel chairman, Minuara Begum said that in the Barura municipal elections, the people of the municipality elected reserved women councilors twice with their support and votes, this time they have increased that support in the upazila elections. I became indebted to the love and support of the upazila residents. He will work alongside these people throughout his life. Along with the development of the area, he always stood by the people to build a society free from terrorism and corruption. Besides, he said that he will work with children, teenagers and backward women who have dropped out of school.
