Nursing and midwifery students held a human chain and sit-in program on Sunday (April 27, 2025) from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm demanding that the Nursing and Midwifery Diploma Course be made equivalent to a bachelor’s degree. This program was held under the banner of the Diploma Student Nurses Union Dinajpur District Branch in front of the Dinajpur Press Club.
Diploma in Nurses Union Dinajpur District Branch President Roknuzzaman Rony , Vice President Shakib Raihan , General Secretary Likhon Roy, and others spoke at the human chain and sit-in program .
They demanded that the Nursing Midwifery Diploma be given the same status as a degree and announced that they would continue the movement until their demands were met. Students from all nursing institutes in Dinajpur participated in the human chain and sit-in program.
