Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun said, we are working in the light of the zero tolerance policy announced by the Prime Minister regarding militancy and terrorism in the country through the process of surrender of pirates. If a criminal wants to get back on the right path, he must be given the opportunity. Because of this we have been able to declare Bandit Free Sundarbans. We are monitoring whether any of the pirates who have surrendered are involved in crime. He said these things in a press briefing at Cox’s Bazar district police office yesterday (May 3) at 3 pm. No matter how big the criminals are, the police are taking legal action against them. He further said, first we list the criminals through various techniques. If there is evidence of crime, they are arrested immediately. We are not exempting anyone when an event is organized. Strict action is being taken against whoever is guilty.
