A huge gas field has been discovered in Saudi Arabia.  It was found in the country’s state oil company Aramco’s Jufurah field.
The gas field is spread over 17 thousand square kilometers.
On Sunday, Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman said an additional 15 trillion standard cubic feet of natural gas and 2 billion barrels of condensate had been found in the offshore field.
He said, as a result of the new discovery, gas reserves of 229 trillion cubic feet and 75 billion barrels of condensate have been confirmed in the Jufurah field.
The Zufurah ‘unconventional’ field is located southwest of the Ghawar oil field in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
Jufurah’s natural gas production is expected to increase shale gas production by 2 billion standard cubic feet per day by 2030.  By 2025, this production could reach 200 million standard cubic feet per day.  In addition, 418 million standard cubic feet of ethane and 630,000 barrels of gas liquids and condensate will be available per day, authorities said.
