The police have arrested a person named Joy Adhikari in the case of trying to kill his uncle due to previous enmity in Nalchiti. Yesterday (July 10) he was arrested from his home. A case has been filed against him by Shanto Adhikari, a resident of Sayor area of ​​Subidpur union of the upazila.
According to the statement, Jay Adhikari and his group attacked Kamal Adhikari with native weapons in front of the local Bhojpur Government Primary School on Sunday evening on July 7. At that time, the attackers fled when the locals rushed to Kamal Adhikari’s call. They took cash, gold chain and smartphone from Kamal Adhikari while fleeing. Later he was rescued by locals and taken to Nalchiti Upazila Health Complex and then sent to Barisal Shebachim for better treatment.
Kamal Adhikari’s son Shanta Adhikari filed a complaint with Nalchiti police station mentioning the names of four people in this incident.
Kamal Adhikari’s son Shanta Adhikari said, we had a dispute with them regarding the land. Later, after measuring the land with the locals in the Shalis meeting, we got possession of many more lands which they had occupied earlier. Besides, my father filed a statement against them regarding the nonsense they wrote on social media in my father’s name. All enraged, they attacked to kill my father. My father survived as the locals rushed to him. He is currently undergoing treatment at Barisal Shebachim.
The arrested Joy Adhikari is the son of Sunil Adhikari, a resident of Sayor in Subidpur Union. Investigation officer of the case SI Sabbir Rahman said that efforts are on to arrest the rest of the accused.
