UNO Md Nazrul Islam has established himself as a successful upazila executive officer of Nalchiti Upazila of Jhalkathi. Apart from the work assigned by the government, his name was mentioned first among the upazila residents as he personally performed numerous humanitarian activities. He is neither a political leader not a public representative. Still, his honesty, work ethic, responsibility and sincerity towards people have placed him at a unique height. Even as an administrative officer, he is able to blend in with the crowd as he is constantly showing his efficiency, honesty, sincerity and bravery. He gradually became the icon of the upazila residents.
Within a short time of joining Nalchiti Upazila in his philanthropic activities. UNO Nazrul Islam has been praised at all levels of the upazila. Working tirelessly day and night, he plowed the fields of the upazila and is still walking. Listening to common people’s problems and solving them. Working at different times from morning to midnight and sometimes till dawn. At any time of 24 hours, any person of the upazila can directly meet him on the phone or in person. You can talk about his problems.
Any natural disaster needs people. Rushed to the shelter with food aid on the night of the storm. In the middle of the night, he himself went with the volunteers to cut the branches of the trees on the road to facilitate the traffic system. This is how UNO Nazrul Islam has become a symbol of public trust.
In the winter days of the month of Paush, he ran to the side of the poor and helpless. Tried to give gifts of winter equipment. He himself ran to distribute the blankets for the poor and homeless to the homeless in the slums or Bede Palli. This is how he became a humanitarian UNO to the public.
He became active in stopping the irregularities and corruption of various departments of the upazila. He has played an effective role in preventing corruption by going against the current during the corrupt autocratic government. Due to which he has gained more fame and love.
From the beginning of his joining, he took a stand against looting money without working on various projects. As the people’s representatives are taking a strict stand against corruption and irregularities, a multi-faceted conspiracy started against them in this upazila. In rural infrastructure development projects (TR, Kabikha, Kabita) in the past, the allocated money was withdrawn without working. Without developing rural infrastructure, these funds were taken by public representatives as their own pocket expenses or Eid expenses. The current money bank UNO stood in the way.
At that time, the corrupt Awami chairmen of various unions rose up against him for not giving money if he did not work. Amir Hussain Amu, the then influential member of parliament, also held a press conference against the UNO with UP chairmen made by his night vote. However, the current upazila executive officer Nazrul Islam was in a strong position. All the trappings of intrigue were forced to yield to his ideals.
When there was a question about the quality of treatment in the upazila health complex, he visited the site himself. The hospital went around to find out about the admitted patients. He instructed to be strict in improving the quality of food, cleaning the bushes around the hospital and exterminating mosquitoes was also his step. Nipun alone handles all the work.
Even though there was no electricity, he ran to the District Commissioner’s office in the morning to run the generator and work till dawn. He is also supervising the construction of the house of the government shelter project built for the landless.
Also allocation for cyclone victims. So that the chairmen cannot loot, they distribute money and vouchers directly to the beneficiaries through the upazila administration. As a result, it is known that many representatives of the Union Parishad did not get the opportunity to loot large sums of money.
Before and after August 5, the law and order situation in Nalchiti Upazila was normal. Where after August 5, the law and order situation broke down across the country. There alone he handled everything with various volunteers, journalists, and students. He also rushed to the house of the martyrs of Nalchiti on a stormy night to take information about the martyrs of the anti-discrimination student movement.
After the August 5 student revolution, he kept the entire upazila together with the students and journalists every time. The only reason why the conspiracies against him were defeated at various times was the public’s trust and undying love for him.
After 5th of August, due to the change in the context, if the activities of the chairman of the upazila parishad, the mayor of the municipality were cancelled, he is still fulfilling that important responsibility. Union Parishad chairmen have been absent for a long time, but there is no shortage of service. Newly, Subidpur and Mollarhat Union Parishads have taken financial and administrative responsibility on their shoulders. He is working day and night to provide continuous service to the common people of the upazila.
Common citizens reported on the ground in different areas of the upazila. We are very happy with the activities of the present Upazila Nirbahi Officer. Because he did not compromise with the corrupt public representatives even during the previous government. He is always working tirelessly. He does that so that the masses benefit. The common people of the upazila are very satisfied with the service of the upazila executive officer and accept him as very polite. In a word, the praise of his activities is universal.

He is always working tirelessly day and night to advance the upazila administration. I have seen from him since August 5. He is a Public Relations Upazila Nirbahi Officer.
Many media worker said that since the day he joined the upazila as a UNO, he has maintained his good relationship with the media workers. There was no lack of sincerity in any information or cooperation of the media correspondents on the phone or directly in any situation, day or night. In short, he is a media-friendly UNO.
But it is known that the old corrupt robbers are not stopping, they are continuing to plant the seeds of conspiracy one after another. Upazila Nirbahi officer was transferred through multifaceted conspiracy. Complainants are filing baseless complaints in various offices through URO letter without proper name and address. Which is nothing but untrue fiction.
Although Nalchiti managed to win the hearts of the common people of the upazila, he became disillusioned in the eyes of the corrupt people of the upazila.
However, students and people of the anti-discrimination movement have warned against any conspiracy against him.
However, when asked about these issues, he said. I took my job as a human service. I always try to fulfill my duties with honesty and devotion. He also said that transfer in government jobs is a normal process. I am always ready for any decision taken by my superiors.
