The incident took place in Adra Union No. 13 of Barura Upazila in Comilla District. It is said that the body of Popi Akhter (16), a 10th standard student of Sonaimuri High School, daughter of Ali Hossain of Sonaimuri (Mahishpukuria village) was recovered on Wednesday, December 13 at approximately 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM. The deceased Popi Akhter’s mother, along with the Jain people, received the news and Barura police station team led by Md. Riaz Uddin Chowdhury arrived at the spot. I was not at home, then I came home and did not find my puppy. I searched a lot. I did not find her. I went to the field where the goat was coming and called my daughter’s name. can see Later I went down to the canal and saw my daughter’s head in the water, then the people around heard my screams and came forward. After rushing Adda to hospital doctors declared her dead, later brought my daughter home and informed our ward member later saw police coming from police station. When Barura police station officer in-charge Riaz Uddin Chowdhury asked about the case, he said that legal action will be taken after the completion of the legal process including the post-mortem report.
