Mosahid Ahmed, Moulvibazar: Traffic Week-2025 has started in Moulvibazar with the theme ‘Life before livelihood, no more road accidents’. Moulvibazar Police Superintendent M, K, H, Jahangir Hossain PPM-Seba inaugurated the awareness procession as the chief guest in front of the traffic office on January 26 (Sunday). The procession started in front of the traffic office on Moulvibazar Court Road in the morning, circled the Press Club intersection and ended in front of the traffic office again. After the procession, the Police Superintendent and the guests present distributed public awareness leaflets among the general public and vehicle drivers. While inaugurating the traffic week, the Police Superintendent said – the purpose of traffic week is not just to fine or punish the general public on the road, but to make the general public aware of traffic laws. Every year, more than 6,000 people die in road accidents. The Traffic Week is being organized with the aim of reducing road casualties and increasing public awareness about traffic laws. Among others present at the event were Additional Superintendent of Police Sudarshan Kumar Roy (promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police), Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Shamsul Haque, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bulbul Ahmed, Traffic Police Inspector (Admin) Anil Bikash Chakma, journalists from print and electronic media, leaders of the Nirapat Sarak Chai movement and members of various ranks of the district police.
