A mobile court has launched an operation to stabilize the commodity market in Joypurhat. The market monitoring task force formed by the district administration conducted the raid. At that time, seven traders were fined Tk 7,500 for not keeping proper price list of products, not having license and selling products at higher prices.
District Administration Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Sajjad Hossain conducted the mobile court in Newhat market of the city on Saturday (October 12) morning.
During this operation, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Sabur Ali said that the operation was conducted to keep the market price of daily commodities fixed. The price list of the products in the shop, keeping extra prices and adulterated products are being seen or not. In addition to supervising the market of daily commodities, vegetables, rice, fish, eggs, chicken and meat, the purchase and sale receipts are checked along with hanging the price list.
He also said that the daily necessities are within the geno purchase limit of the people. The present government has formed a market monitoring task force in every district. Today we are in the market like that task force every day.
Some unscrupulous traders have been selling products at high prices in various markets of the district. Keeping this matter in front, this mobile court is managed under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Joypurhat. To keep the market stable, the district administration will continue to operate the mobile courts.
District Agriculture Marketing Officer Mehdi Hasan, District President of Consumer Association of Bangladesh (CAB) Abdus Salam, Student Representative Hasibul, Mobaswere were present.
