Jhalakathi Correspondent: A mobile court has fined five illegal brick kilns in Kathalia, Jhalakathi, razing them with a bulldozer. The stoves, chimneys and raw bricks of these illegal brick kilns were crushed. The drive was conducted in Bara Kathalia and Shauljalia areas on Thursday afternoon under the leadership of Kathalia Upazila Executive Officer Zahirul Islam. During the drive, SSB Bricks, MC Bricks and MM Bricks of Shauljalia Union were fined 50,000 taka each for illegally making bricks and setting up kilns, totaling 1.5 lakh taka. In addition to these three brick kilns, the team conducting the drive also razed KBF Bricks and M/s KSB Bricks with a bulldozer. Jhalakathi Environment Department Director Md. Aminul Islam was present during the operation. In addition, members of AMRSS police, Kathalia police station, and fire service were present to avoid any untoward incident
