Miscreants attacked, vandalized and looted the house of Abdur Rob Muna Biswas, chairman of Patta Union and president of the Union A’League in Pangsha Upazila of Rajbari. 6-7 people, including the chairman, were injured in the incident.
The injured are UP Chairman Abdur Rob Muna Biswas, his brother Abdur Rahim, Sajedur Rahman Dablu, Enamul Haque Bablu, his nephew and two other women of the house were injured. It is reported that a group of miscreants entered the chairman’s house in Boyrat village of the union at 12:30 am on Thursday (February 6) and attacked the house on the occasion of the centenary. In this regard, the chairman’s younger brother Enamul Haque Bablu said that at around 12:30 am, a group of miscreants broke the gate of the house with country-made weapons and firearms on the occasion of the centenary. After entering the house, they broke the doors of 6 rooms and hacked and injured my brother Chairman Abdur Rob Muna, Abdur Rahim, Dablu, sister-in-law and nephew. During this, they vandalized all the belongings of the house and looted about 3 million taka in cash, gold ornaments and 3 motorcycles. They hit me and my niece Cynthia with hockey sticks and hammers. He said that this terrible attack was carried out on our family because of the Awami League. The seriously injured in the incident were rescued and first admitted to Rajbari Government Hospital and later to Anwar Khan Modern Hospital in Dhaka for advanced treatment. They are currently undergoing treatment there.
In this regard, Assistant Superintendent of Police (Pangsha Circle) Debabrata Sarkar said, “We visited the scene this morning after receiving the information. Further legal proceedings are underway.”
