Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth anniversary and National Children’s Day were observed with due dignity at the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports has celebrated the 104th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali father of the nation and National Children’s Day-2024 with due dignity.

A discussion meeting on the life and work of Bangabandhu was held at the Shaheed Sheikh Kamal Auditorium of the National Sports Council. At the end of the meeting, a prayer was offered for the soul of the Father of the Nation. The guests present at the meeting discussed the life and work of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
In the speech of the president in the discussion meeting, the youth and sports secretary said, Bangabandhu has given us an independent country. Whatever we do to pay tribute to Bangabandhu is not enough. We have to learn from the working life of Bangabandhu. Bangabandhu should be kept not only in the mouth but in the heart. Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the privileged daughter of Bangabandhu, is working tirelessly to build the golden Bengal of Bangabandhu’s dream. Building Bangabandhu’s dream of Sonar Bangla will be possible only through keeping and nurturing Bangabandhu’s ideals. The successful implementation of the goal set by the honorable Prime Minister to build a developed and prosperous Bangladesh by 2041 will be possible.
The Youth and Sports Secretary also said that after independence, Bangabandhu took the initiative to decorate sports fields like all other sectors. In just three-and-a-half years, he established the National Sports Regulatory Body, which is today’s NSC, with more than 22 sports federations. He established the Bangabandhu Krirasevi Kalyan Foundation to help athletes. If Bangabandhu was alive, the country’s sports would have progressed much further.
