At Barura, Comilla on August 5 at 14.30 hours, Barura police station SI(N)/Md. Ali Mortuza, along with officers and forces, during daytime emergency patrolling, drug recovery and warrant Tamil duty, came to know through confidential information that Barura police station No. 14, Lakshipur Paschim Bazar, was paved in front of Salauddin Hotel. Some illegal counterfeiters are stationed on the streets to sell fake currency notes. As soon as the police arrived at the scene described in the news report, 01 person was arrested while trying to escape. During the search of his body in the presence of the witnesses, 490 alleged counterfeit notes of the value of Rs.500/-(Five Hundred) tied with a black handkerchief were found in a paper shopping bag held in his right hand and recovered on 05/08/ 2023 A.D. At 15.15 hrs seized the original seizure list. During interrogation, Md. Akram (24), father Md. Kamal Hossain, mother-Mariam, Sang-Char Falkon, Po. Hazirhat, Thana-Kamalnagar, District-Laxmipur said. In the presence of witnesses at the scene of the incident, when the defendant was questioned about the source of collection of fake money or from whom he collected it, he said that 1. Farooq, father-unknown, spouse-unknown, thana-unknown, district-unknown, Mob: 01873-815992 and 2. Siraj Gazi, Father-unknown, Sang-unknown, Thana-unknown, District-unknown, Mob: 01872-198211 collected from two and sold them in different areas of Comilla and Chandpur districts. In the said incident, SI (retd)/ Md Ali Mortuza filed a complaint against 01 accused and 02 absconding accused.
