The court has ordered life imprisonment to three people in connection with the killing of neighbors over drain soil in Joypurhat. The judge of the district and session judge court gave this judgment on Thursday (June 15). Noor Islam At the same time, the convicts were ordered to pay a fine of 10,000 taka, and in default of payment, one more year of rigorous imprisonment. Besides, the judge acquitted 5 people as they were not involved in the murder.
The convicts are Mahafuzar Rahman, son of Idris Ali of Gopinathpur Alpana village of Kalai upazila, Rafiqul Islam alias Arif and Abdul Quddus. About them three brothers. And the acquitted are Shafiul Alam, Abu Zafar, Enamul Haque, Zahidul Islam and Yakub Ali.
According to the source, between Gopinathpur and Jagdumbar villages of Kalai upazila, the accused hit him on the head with a spade when his neighbor Solaiman Ali stopped him from filling his own place without throwing the soil of the roadside drain on the road. Later Solaiman was rescued and taken to Kalai Upazila Health Complex in critical condition. When the condition deteriorated there, he was taken to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical Hospital where he died. In this incident, Rafiqul Islam, the son of the deceased, filed a case in Kalai police station, accusing 8 people as the plaintiff.
After investigating the case, the then Police Inspector (Investigation) of Kalai Police Station Biswajit Barman filed a charge sheet against the accused in the court. After the testimony of 11 people in the court, three people were sentenced to life imprisonment and the court acquitted 5 people as they were not involved in the murder.
