Lalmonirhat Union Parishad members providing human chain and memorandum to prevent release

SB-Sujon, Lalmonirhat correspondent :

the Lalmonirhat district commissioner’s office, human chains and memorandums were provided to protest the decision to abolish the Union Parishad on the initiative of the Bangladesh Union Member Organization (BISS) Lalmonirhat district branch.  The memorandum was submitted through the Deputy Commissioner to the Principal Adviser to the Interim Government.  In this memorandum signed by all the union council members of Lalmonirhat district, it is requested not to dissolve the council.

Abdul Karim, convenor of Bangladesh Union Member Organization (BISS) Lalmonirhat district branch of Manabbandhan said, “We work relentlessly for the people, but the decision to dissolve the union council will hinder our service activities.”

Member Secretary Mantazur Rahman said, “We want to work as a part of this government, so we request to cancel the decision to dissolve the Union Parishad.”

Lalmonirhat sadar upazila branch convener.  Abdur Rahim said, “We want to serve till the end of our term, because the Union Parishad is the closest service provider to the people.”

Lalmonirhat District Commissioner HM Raqib Haider said, “The memorandum will be sent to higher authorities, and the matter will be seriously considered.”

The memorandum states, “If the decision to dissolve the Union Council is implemented, the local people will be deprived of services and there will be obstacles in the establishment of good administrative governance.”
