Lalmonirhat Two examinees were detained for using electronic devices in recruitment examination

Lalmonirhat, two candidates have been arrested while faking using electronic devices in their ears.  They were arrested from the recruitment examination center held at Lalmonirhat Government College on Saturday (December 2) afternoon.

The arrested are Dharma Kant Roy (37) son of Sushil Chandra Roy of Paschim Velabari area of ​​Aditmari Upazila of the district and Mehedi Hasan (37) son of Mozammel Haque of Paschim Gobda area of ​​Durgapur Union of the same upazila.

According to the sources of the district administration, recruitment circulars were published in two phases in 2017 and 2020 for the purpose of appointing 45 people for the post of ‘accounts assistant cum computer operator’ in each of the 45 union councils of the district.  Today Saturday was recruitment exam.  Out of 1704 job candidates, 699 candidates participated in that recruitment test.

Meanwhile, the recruitment test started at 10 am at Lalmonirhat Government College Centre.  At that time, in room 201 of the center, Dharma Kant Roy, candidate of roll 181 and Mehdi Hasan, candidate of roll 61 in room 101, were listening to the answers to the questions from outside the center on the mobile phone using an electronic device.  At that time, when the center inspector on duty at the examination center got suspicious, two electronic devices hidden inside their ears were recovered after searching their bodies.  Later they were handed over to the police by the members of the recruitment committee.

Meanwhile, when the police took them to the hospital, the doctor on duty took out the electronic device hidden inside their ear.  Prashant Kumar Roy, the administrative officer of the local government branch, filed a case at the police station as the plaintiff on behalf of the deputy commissioner.

In this regard, Omar Farooq, OC of Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station, said that a case has been filed against them by the district administration.  He also said that they will be sent to jail after interrogation.
