Lalmonirhat railway division, all types of trains, including inter-city trains, have resumed operations after being stopped for 8 consecutive days due to the anti-discrimination student movement.

6 trains left the railway divisional station and 4 trains entered the station till 3 pm on Tuesday (August 13).

According to Lalmonirhat Railway sources, the Ministry of Railways decided to stop all trains from August 4 to avoid violent incidents and to protect state resources during the anti-discrimination student movement.  Since then the Lalmonirhat Railway Division like other Railway Divisions stopped all trains.  Commuter and local mail trains have started running from Tuesday morning after train services stopped for 8 consecutive days.  However, the railway department also said that the domestic and Dhaka-bound inter-city express trains will be launched on August 15.

Lalmonirhat Divisional Railway Office Divisional Traffic Officer (DTO) Abdullah Al Mamun and Lalmonirhat Railway Stationmaster Abdur Rahman said that local and mail trains have started running on Tuesday.  It has been decided to start inter-city express trains between scheduled destinations next Thursday.
