Lalmonirhat Teesta toll plaza toll collector killed by truck

Masud Rana (40), a bridge toll collector, was killed by a truck at Teesta Toll Plaza in Lalmonirhat.  At that time, the toll house of the toll plaza was broken and destroyed.
The accident happened on Monday (June 24) morning at the Teesta road bridge toll plaza.  The deceased Masud Rana is said to be the son of Fazal Haque of Baksiganj police station in Jamalpur district.  He was working under Regnum Penta, the owner of the toll plaza, for three years.
Other employees of the toll plaza said that a truck loaded with goods bound for Lalmonirhat from Rangpur lost control and entered the toll plaza in the morning.  At that time, a laborer named Masood Rana, who was collecting toll, was crushed by the wheels of the truck and his arms and legs were severed from his body and he died on the spot.  Later, a team of police on duty at the toll plaza rushed to the spot and arrested the killer truck along with its driver and assistant.
On receiving the information, the members of Lalmonirhat Fire Service came to the spot and recovered various parts of the dismembered body and sent it to the morgue.
Shahid, manager of Regnam Penta Group, the owner of the toll plaza, said, Masood has been working honestly in our company for the last three years.  We are saddened by his untimely death.  He also demanded severe punishment for the killer truck driver.
Omar Farooq, officer in charge of Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the driver and assistant of the truck have been arrested.   A case is being prepared in this incident.
