The Water Development Board has removed 47 illegal structures, including the Awami League leader’s luxury structures, which were built by occupying the land of the Water Development Board in the Teesta Barrage area, the largest irrigation project in the country, in Hatibandha Upazila of Lalmonirhat.  On Wednesday (December 27) afternoon, Executive Magistrate Isfat ul Kabir, Nazia Naureen, Farid Al Sohan and a large number of police participated in the evacuation operation.

It is known that personal assistant of MP Motahar Hossain of Hatibandha and Patgram constituencies and organizing secretary of local Gaddimari UP chairman Upazila Awami League Abu Bakkar Siddique Shyamal has illegally occupied the government space of Water Development Board in the important flat by pass area of ​​Teesta Barrage and there is a luxury restaurant called Bairali.  makes  After that, several other places were vacant.  47 structures were built illegally.

For a long time, legal notices were given to eviction of these structures, but they were not removed. On the orders of the court, in the presence of three magistrates and hundreds of police administration and water development board officials, all those structures were evacuated.

Saiful Islam, OC of Hatibandha police station, said that the police administration is assisting in the illegal eviction operation under the direction of the court.

Dalia Water Development Board Executive Engineer Asfaudoula said, flat by pass of Teesta barrage area is an important area and there will be no illegal construction in this area.  The owners of 47 illegal structures in the barrage area did not listen even after several notices.  Hence illegal eviction operations were conducted.

Lalmonirhat District Executive Magistrate Isfat-ul-Kabir said that a three-member executive magistrate team has worked to remove the illegal construction of the Teesta Barrage Water Development Board on the orders of the court.  Illegal structures have been evicted.  No one stopped it.
