A newly married man named Jahidul Islam (22) died of a stroke on his way back from a wedding in Kaliganj, Lalmonirhat.
The incident occurred around 12 midnight on Sunday when the newly married groom and bride were on their way back to the Tushbhandar area of ​​the upazila.
The deceased Jahidul Islam is the son of Mahubar Rahman of Wabda Bazar area of ​​Kakina Union.
Locals said that after completing the wedding ceremony at home, he and his relatives prepared to go to the bride’s house. In the evening, the groom took his passengers to the bride’s house in Chowdhuryhat area of ​​Kaliganj. After the wedding ceremony, Jahidul Islam fell ill on the road while crossing Tushbhandar Bazar. Later, the groom’s passengers took him to Rangpur Medical College while he was ill.
Kakina Union (Ward No. 5) member Md. Shahabuddin said, “We sent the village police there after hearing about the incident. The newlywed groom, Zahidul Islam, died while ill on his way back from his wedding last night.”
Kaliganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Selim Malik said, “We sent the police to the spot after hearing about the death of the newlywed. The full incident will be known after the investigation.”
