Three Bangladeshis were injured in firing by Indian Border Guard Force BSF at Hatibandha border in Lalmonirhat.

BGB’s Singimari BOP Commander Naik Subedar Safizul Islam confirmed the matter.  The incident took place on Friday, June 7 at around 3:30 pm.

One of the injured Altab Hossain (55) is said to be the son of Bacha Sheikh of the area.  The name and identity of the other two injured could not be known.

According to the border sources and BGB, the farmer Altab Hossain and others were working in the field between the 8-9 sub pillars of the main pillar number 893 of the border inside Bangladesh.  At that time Indian BSF fired at them.  3 people were injured in those shots.  It is said that BGB arrived at the spot after receiving the news.

When Singimari Union Parishad Chairman Manowar Hossain was called on his mobile phone, he said, “Shots are fired.”  Nothing much happened.  Three people were injured.  Among them, Altaf Hossain is a little more sick.  He then hung up.

Naik Subedar Safizul Islam, Singimare BOP Commander of BGB, said, “Flag meeting is going on with BSF at the moment.  At least three people were reported injured.  They are said to be undergoing treatment at Hatibandha Health Complex.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Hatibandha police station.  Saiful Islam said, ‘I have also heard about it.  I am outside, I can tell you the details when I go to the spot.
