On Tuesday afternoon, it was recovered from inside Bangladesh in the no man’s land of the Indian border in the Singimaari border area of ​​the upazila.
Later, BGB confirmed this information to journalists in a press release on Tuesday evening. Besides, BGB has also made a general diary in Hatibandha police station in this incident.
Meanwhile, BGB arrested Nazrul Islam (50) and his wife Anjana Begum (40) in the border area before recovering the Indian rupees. After searching, he found nothing and released them.
Nazrul Islam is the son of the deceased Isahak Mia of Singimari area of ​​Upazila. Besides, Nazrul is a known drug dealer. There are several cases pending against him.
It has been reported that on Tuesday afternoon, on December 19, local residents Nazrul Islam and his wife Anjana Begum were seen roaming in the no man’s land of the Indian border in the border area of ​​Singimari upazila, and the BGB members of the patrolling team of Singimari BOP camp arrested them. At that time, their bodies were searched and they were released without finding anything. Later, BGB carried out extensive searches in various places in the area and recovered about 250,000,500 Indian rupees from a hole buried under the ground. Which is about eight hundred thousand five thousand six hundred and sixty Taka in Bangladeshi Taka.
In this regard, Teesta Battalion-2 (61 BGB) captain Lt. Colonel Sheikh Mohammad Musahid Masum said that about 125,000,500 Indian rupees buried under the ground in Singimari border area have been recovered. Besides, a general diary has been made in this incident at Hatibandha Police Station and the process of depositing the seized Indian Rupees at Lalmonirhat Treasury Office is under process.
