Eid is the main religious festival of the followers of Islam. The markets of Lalmonirhat are packed with this Eid. Not only the markets in the district town, but also the small and large markets of the hat and bazaars of the 5 upazilas of Lalmonirhat are packed. Many have already finished their shopping.
However, Eid shopping has just started in the shopping malls. Although there is a demand for Indian clothes this time, buyers and sellers say that buyers are leaning towards local clothes. However, the number of women is more among the buyers. There are very few male buyers.
While there is a slight crowd in the cloth shops in the market throughout the day, there is a little more crowd in the afternoon, but the crowd of buyers increases after the evening.
Buyers said that although the prices are slightly higher than last year, the market has started to get crowded as Eid day approaches.
However, traders say that shopping has started after the 15th day of Ramadan. This time, domestic cotton fabrics have taken over the market, leaving Indian fabrics behind. Due to the heat, domestic cotton three-pieces are everyone’s favorite and are at the top of sales. Indian gowns and long frocks are being sold at the same time.
